Adult Therapy

As adults, we are often expected to have all the answers, but we are faced with struggles that may feel insurmountable. I have worked with adults in many settings and am skilled in helping individuals work through a wide range of interpersonal struggles. You may not realize it, but it is an exciting time we live in. It’s a time when people are beginning to realize that they don’t have to struggle in silence and don’t have to shoulder the burden of difficult emotions on their own. How wonderful it is that we don’t have to be held hostage by our past experiences and that these experiences don’t have to define who we are or who you will become. Together, we can find new ways to improve mood, manage anxiety and depression, and create a culture of growth within your life. I truly believe it is within all of us to have the life we desire, the life we deserve.

We can all envision the life that we want to have.  Whether that be sustained emotional well-being, a rewarding career or supportive interpersonal relationships, the truth is that we will never fully achieve these goals if we are plagued with depression, anxiety and self-doubt.  My role as your therapist is to act as your coach, to help you discover what is holding you back and help develop new and healthy ways of coping.  If you are willing to make yourself a priority, be diligent and work hard, you can have the life that you want to have. We can utilize various tools to achieve your desired outcome including brainspotting, CBT and DBT.

Adolescent Therapy

As a parent or caregiver, it is hard to watch our teens struggle. Especially if these struggles go beyond what would be expected for this age group.  Are they are having a difficult time managing issues related to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, problematic peer groups or destructive behavior? Some of your teens may be engaging in cutting or burning behavior or other forms of self injury, which can feel overwhelming to the teen as well as the entire family unit. I want to stress that there is help available, and the circumstances of today do not need to dictate your teens success as an adult.

Maybe these symptoms are new and you are having a difficult time knowing where to start or how to help.  Maybe your teen has been struggling for some time, has a history of hospitalizations, or has tried therapy before.  No matter where you are in this process, I believe I can help.

Working as an advocate for your teen, we can work together to set realistic and attainable goals to help them learn new ways to take control of their lives and again become the happy, productive, self-assured soon-to-be adult you know they can be!
